When feeding puppies, my keeper from a litter, say, (not feeding an entire litter) here's what I do: Pups certainly have a problem with bowl sliding all over the place, them chasing it around the kitchen. I let this happen a few times. Then I will kneel down or sit down, whatever I have time for, and just put one hand on the side of the bowl to prevent it from sliding away. You can even make a V shape with your feet and trap the bowel in there. It doesn't take the pups long to know you're helping them; thus, it's a great way to build their trust 'real' fast, 'real' early. I believe that then flows into trusting me on recall, nail clipping, ears, all that. Before long, they figure out how to keep that bowl still, so I like to grab that opportunity. Be sure to let the bowl slide around every few feedings so they don't forget the goddesses that we are :) Jodi Distilli www.dinovagsd.com ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2008.
