Several years ago I stumbled upon the idea of giving my dogs raw carrots
for treats. Can't get any healthier than fresh vegetables, I thought.
Fortunately I mentioned it to my vet one day and he told me that an occasional
piece of carrot would be OK, but that carrots contain too much roughage for
most dogs and especially ours. I was disappointed, but sure glad to know!

would I feed them something they don't even digest ? Don't know about the
banana chips - I like them too much myself to give it to the dogs - :)

My dogs get roast beef for treats. If you price a cheap cut of roast it
will
not be much different in price than treats , in some cases lest costly. we
have 1 meal off of the roast,and I buy a big roast, and then I cube the
rest
up and freeze it in baggies. What dog doesn't like roast beef?And then I
know what my dogs are getting.
