This is from the shelter check in on Petfinder and checking with some of the
GSD Rescues in the affected areas. I have not heard anything from the New
Orleans GSD Rescue but she lives on Lake Pontchartrain which is flooded and
has most likely not been able to get home.

MS ARL is completely full with animals. They have no electricity, phones or
water at this point and are getting by on tubs and 55-gal drums that they
were able to fill with water prior to the storm. They are also staffing the
State Fair Grounds where they are caring for 147 animals from evacuees. They
are fine for food supply at this time but have a need for animal care
supplies (bowls, leashes...), water and manpower.

There is a shelter in Tenn that has had a wall wash away, they need to get
all animals out.
Jackson Madison County Humane Society in Jackson, TN, their building was
shifting and the dogs needed placing asap.

With all of the rain last night (and much more coming this week), the
building shifted again and the walls are literally falling down. 30 dogs
MUST be moved today or tomorrow and the remaining ones need to be moved
quickly!! PLEASE don't think this is an empty cry for help. This is a
scary, scary situation and could result in mass euthanasia if we cannot get
these dogs placed. There is absolutely no way all of these dogs can be
housed locally!
We can help with transporting if necessary. Please, please, please visit
the website (above) and look at those sweet faces! They need your help
now!! Spread the word to everyone you know. Please contact me directly at
