Subject: Dick & Jean
We remember sitting on our back patio with Dick and`Jean after a BBQ at our
mini ranch in Tehachapi. Dick had` just started chemo, yet he sat there
eating and` visiting with the chemo device strapped to his body as if it
didn't exist. It was the beginning of knowing what a trooper he was. You
would have never known he was beginning the toughest ordeal of his life, for
he saw it as a battle to be won. And` win he did, battle by battle, for
longer than any of us expected, because he wasn't leaving without a fight.
He`fought those battles with grace and dignity and`never complained.. But
now is the time to concentrate on the wife he left behind. Jean, was, and
is, multi-tasked, showing, breeding and`grooming dogs, helping to run dog
shows, and`being what Dick needed most, a loving wife. She will need us now
and`we must be there for her. I would bet the ranch that she will at the
Claremont show giving her all, because she doesn't know how not to, so let's
give our all to her. She needs it and she deserves it. God speed, Dick,
and`God bless you, Jean.
