The 'Animal Testing' rubbish on the internet is from PETA who put that out as part of their attack on Procter and Gamble - it's not true. The only testing Iams does is the same as any other dog food company - to test the balance of their ingredients over all ages and breeds. They sometimes fund studies they think will benefit animals at universities, but they have strict requirements for how the animals should be treated and cared for. I found one incident of one of those studies that did not follow the guidelines, and Iams not only stopped that study immediately, but pulled their funding from the other studies that University had been approved for. These lies have been 'out there' for over 6 years in spite of all that Iams has done to try to clear them up. This should be a wake up call for the damage PETA does with their misinformation campaigns. They really don't need you to help spread their lies! If you want to change dog foods, do it, but you don't need to join PETA's efforts to blackball Iams! Janice In a message dated 3/17/2006 11:25:41 P.M.
