Thanks for your post=2E This is a subject dear to my heart=2E Too often,=
when
judging, dogs/bitches are presented that act as though they did not have
two brain cells to rub together=2E They ARE NOT SPOOKS, they are KENNEL d=

and bitches=2E Very little socialization=2E They have been taken out of =
the
kennel to be trained for the show ring=2E=20
Had a phone call just yesterday from a very pleasant man who has been
trying desperately to obtain good, sound stock - he REALLY WANTS TO BECOME=
INVOLVED=2E Has spent gobs of money=2E One male sent to him had Hip bone=
s
sticking up, condition so poor he refused to send it back until he had put=
the poor dog in better condition=2E Friend of his has had the very same
experience, the friend had three dogs sent to him=2E All of inferior
quality, for big prices, and from "well known breeders"=2E The friend has=
now turned to another Herding breed=2E It was apparent these dogs had
practically lived in crates=2E How many litters a year can be bred and KN=
OW
that there is a good home out there for them?=2E How many times do we bre=
ed
a bitch when after the first two litters we should know that she just is
not a producer?=2E How many litters a year and in some cases a month can =
we
breed & give each and every puppy what they need to develop their full
potential=2E Of course, each breeder is operating
under different circumstances - some can do more and others less=2E Li=
ke

Just so people are aware that this is not always the case, I purchased a
puppy from a kennel on the other side of the country, and he was shipped t=
o
me sight unseen=2E He grew up to be a wonderful dog, and did reasonably w=
ell
as a show dog (a major plus)=2E He spent his early days in the breeder's
kennel, and he was in handlers kennels for quite a while, but even that
didn't change him from a very fine shep into a kennel dog=2E Maybe it
depends on the breeding behind the dog, and maybe the breeder behind the
breeding (VBG)=2E =20
