Thanks Ed. Our church starts early too. In fact, churchgoing Catholics can
satisfy the Sunday Mass requirement on Saturday night.
Our family has revolved around animals for so long I tend to take it for
granted. We celebrate most things on Sundays (b-days, anniversaries, etc.)
because my brother works on Saturdays.
We DO arrange our dinner schedule around my sister's horse feeding schedule
though <VBG>. You can get away with a little variance w/ dogs...horses...not
so much.
All I meant w/ the "ham comment" is that Easter dinner isn't the labor
intensive ordeal that some other Holidays can be. The time we spend together is
more important than "a production".
I missed Mother's Day last year...actually it was my mother's suggestion...I
had a gal ready to whelp. To complicate matter's my sister's (older) horse
wasn't doing so well. My mother really didn't want her to drive to their house
either. Soooooooooo......mom & dad wrapped up the pork loin, put the veggies
in containers and the rest of the family went to my sister's house so she
didn't have to leave the horse. Three weeks later, mom came here and loved on
puppies and we had "mother's day week".
Whatever works. All I know is that we still have 4 and 5 point majors at DV
when our show date falls on Easter.

Kathy, to some people, Easter means much more than a huge meal with leftovers

Every so often our specialty (which for a number of years was on
Saturday/Sunday b-cause we did the AB Rally and OB on the Saturday) falls on
Passover/Easter and it hasn't hurt entries...
