I learned about this from a Breeder in the South. ( Thanks Darnell ) <G>
Many Breeders use it on young pups so that by the time they go into their
pet homes their
ears are pretty much "up." We have used it a few times and love
it.........and have set
ears for other breeders and showed them how to do it and most of them love
it too.
Just 'bead' it on the outside hairs of the inside edge of their
ears......from the base to the tip
and press them together. I daub it on with Q-tips. They don't even
notice it.......just take off
playing and the other pups don't even notice it. It wears off in about
2 - 3 weeks and their
ears are up. Some of the hair is matted with it and comes off also....but
is back in two
weeks.
We personally have never had one end up with the "overset" ears from that
method yet
and it is so much less invasive than the foam curlers or pipe insulation and
glue.......and
does not touch skin anywhere to cause problems.

A sheltie /Collie breeder I know uses the glue used to glue on ostomy
bags,
for people who had to have there colon or intestines removed or repaired,
to
help "tip" her dogs ears. Talk about a pain in the butt ears that are up
with the tip down. Anyway you get it at medical supply stores. I have
never

Those looking for glue to use on ears - a sheltie friend told me about
usinghair extension glue that you get at the beauty supply store. The
stuff
worksgreat, is more hypoallergenic, less irritating and comes in colors
(clear,
black, red). The best thing is that they have a glue remover - that works
great when you are ready to un-stick their ears. Since it is designed to
be used
on humans, it is gentle. I bought some at Sally's Beauty Supply - got
both
theglue and the remover for under $10.
