Suggest that they change his diet. Do not feed any product that has the
following: grains, red meat and dairy products (eggs, cheese, etc) This is for
his main food and snacks --- including dog cookies.
Feed only Nature's Balance Potato Duck - comes canned and kibble and treats or
IVD Potato Duck; Potato Rabbit- comes canned and kibble
You must follow it strictly - no table scraps etc.
This diet was published in The Whole Dog Journal several years ago to control
seizures in dogs. At that time, I sent the info to a friend who's dog had
seizures. Once he was on the diet, instead of seizing monthly, he went up to 8
months without a seizure and then had one as he was at vets and they fed him
some canned food that had red meat and grains in it although they were informed
as to his restricted diet.
But even a little bit of food that contains the off limit foods can put the
dog into a seizure.
