I have a little guy here who the vets are saying he is a dwarf /minature German Shepherd. At 3 1/2 months he is 12 lbs. He is also a long coat. He was born normal then was slow to grow. His brothers are over 40 lbs. He has now started to lose hair on his tail and ears. I just had some test taken. His thyroid and liver test are all fine. The vet seems to think it is a growth hormone problem. The problem is the test are very expensive and the growth hormone is Very expensive and they think he would need it all his life. If we do not do this he will probably lose all his hair. Have any of you had to face this situation and if so what did you dicide to do? Thanks for the help.
