the judge should put up the best dog in the ring, whether the ringside is going
ballistic over that dog or whether there is dead silence....ring noise, or lack
there of, should make absolutely no difference to the man or woman in the
center of the ring!..Ed

one of the many arguments I got into with my good friend and handler was about
not clapping for my dogs and the dogs of his other clients,(Champions and
Veterans not included) who were also my friends....now I clap for dogs, mainly
when I'm asked...I have never ,nor will I ever ,ask some one to clap for my
dog!...and lets be honest, folks want you to clap for their dog because they
think it has an influence on the judge....and sadly I am sure that sometimes it
does.....well I am of the mind set that I don't want to show a dog to some one
that can be influenced by the applause of the ringside...and many times the
crowd in my opinion is truly clapping for what they believe to be the best dog
in the ring, but just as many times they are clapping because its their
friend's dog, or the dog belongs to a "popular" owner or the dog is being
handled by a "popular" handler......and believe me I am not sugges
 ting
that folks stop clapping, by all
means go
right ahead...but I want to show under judges that couldn't care less about
clapping one way or another...Ed Hill

What happens if the judge actually does like the same dog as the clappers?
Should he not put it up?
