I see that two of our good airlines for flying dogs ( Delta & Northwest ) are merging and will now become ONE airline. According to the news.... this means less flights and that means flights will be completely jammed full ......including Cargo......and the prices will also rise. It's inevitable as the airlines struggle to stay afloat. This makes flying our dogs just a tad more difficult again. Won't affect us too much on the level of just showing our dogs to their Championship.....but makes it more difficult to get to our Futurities and Nationals. Carolyn marhaven@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx When I checked into flying a dog in a 500 crate to the Texas national, Northwest wanted $300 each way. Delta charges $150 each way. Of course, Delta only flies MD80's into that airport so they can't take a 500 crate anyway. But, at $600 round trip for my dog to fly in a box in the cargo hold, I don't consider Northwest a "good airline" for flying dogs. I am driving to Texas for the national as it was just too difficult (and too expensive) to fly with dogs. Laurie Laura L.
