I think we all are going to have to accept the fact that the time is growing
nearer and nearer that the airlines won't fly dogs at all...at any cost.
I posted to the list 2 years ago that this time was coming...a fellow GSD
fancier in this area (Bob Rollins...remember him?) who has a contract to
ship dogs for the USGovernment said it was going to happen, and it is.
Right now it's just a matter of money...and crate size...but it won't be
long before there won't be enough money in anyone's pocket to fly a dog
anywhere. We'll either go back to driving several hundred miles to breed a
bitch or use fresh-chilled semen, something GSD fanciers overall are not in
favor of, it seems. As for shows, again, we'll be back to driving.
All the more reason to look at the middle of the country for National
events.
