[ SHOWGSD-L ] Deformed Puppy

Hi all:
In my GSD litter, whelped during the night (as usual), I had a female pup born 
with what I believe is Spina Bifida.?? The lower part of the spine was open, 
and had no hair around.? The rear legs were deformed - no joint a hock area, 
legs locked straight and can't be bent or folded up.? I do have pictures that I 
will email *privately* to anyone wishing to see this. Just email me a request.

Has anyone on the List experienced this?? 

BTW - the puppy died shortly after birth.
