Come on folks. First of all, very few of us would sue. Second, damages
have to be determined, and million dollar judgements come only from sever
damages, not from a dog bite.
I had a four year old bit by a dog. He had a tear duct torn out, and had
to have a tube put in from the other side to drain the eye. He had a facial
scar. The case settled for $150,000 to be put in trust for when he turns 18.
And, I am not an easy person to have to defend against. I settled for that,
because I felt a jury would award less.
Damages have to be proved, and they have to be certain. I agree with Margy,
it would be hard to imagine anything that could cause damages over
$1,000,000.00.
