The team of Petra Ford and her fabulous Lab, Tyler, won the Obedience competition at Crufts. Hooray for a breathtaking performance. Petra had to totally retrain her boy for this competition. Totally different than our Obedience venue. Congratulations Petra and Tyler from the USA. Here is a video of some of their performance. http://www.youtube. com/watch? v=CVzf9dx8qdI& list=UUqEobfdxKq bf7X-cUh9Ul0Q& index=5&feature= plcp Marcia & Shepherds Home of: Kohana's Time Traveler, CGC, UD, RN *Aussie* Wyoming's Colorado American Xpress *Aussie* Work in progress ;-) UCD Snowy River's Fur Elise, CGC, TC, ASCA-CDX, AKC-UDX-OM1-OTCH ptd. *Aussie*Ret. Funding priorities include the following: basic veterinary care for financially-challenged companion pet owners; programs that help the homeless, seriously ill, homebound, or disabled care for their pets; companion pet food banks; education programs that directly relate to keeping companion pets and their people together; behavior modification programs to correct inappropriate behaviors so that pets may remain in the home; and disaster preparedness and response. Grants range from $1,000 to $20,000. Requests are reviewed quarterly; the upcoming application deadline is April 30, 2012. That itself is enough to join the Parent Club, and get the Review. It talked about treatment, and also outlined the dangers of breeding without the DM test. We would not breed without it. It also talked about how often DM is misdiagnosed and how seldom it shows up in young dogs. In the past the diagnosis was made when nothing else was found to explain the problems. That may well be still being done.
