Points: 4 Points, Dogs & Bitches
First, let me take this opportunity to thank the members of the Jersey Shore
GSDC for both, the invitation to judge their show, and the superb hospitality
extended. A gorgeous fall day, a beautiful show site, good food,
entertainment, and great sportsmanship made the entire day a pleasure. Not
often, does a
judge have the good fortune and privilege to consider so many top quality
animals at one show. This event was no exception, as the overall depth was
tremendous with difficult decisions in several quality filled classes.

The Winners Dog: from the American Bred Class, Keylis The Big Red Dog is a
very striking, black and red, handsome young fellow with a smooth and athletic,
balanced gait that displayed excellent temperament. It is my understanding,
that he is not yet two years of age and is very close to completing his
Championship requirements. This is a very solid young dog that has the overall
composition and ability to be highly competitive in many venues!

The Winners Bitch, Best of Opposite, and Best of Winners: from the 12-18
Class, 2004 Canadian Futurity Victrix, Dayglyn's Knickerbocker Glory. WOW!
This
young lady is quite an impressive little black & tan package. She is blessed
with lovely type, correct size, a very smooth and low-stationed, ground
covering
gait, coupled with a high spirited "never quit" attitude. This outstanding
youngster has the "whole package" and it is easy to predict that her future
potential is extremely high!

Many of the bitch classes were filled with several high quality animals that
would be very competitive anywhere in the nation (i.e., Futurity Victrix,
Futurity Winners, Reserve Futurity Winners, National Specialty Class Winners,
Placers, etc., etc.). All of which, possessed beautiful correct type, smooth
athletic movement and displaying good temperament. The breeders and owners of
theses animals are to be commended as any judge would be proud to pick a winner
from this group! Interestingly, I was later advised that a very significant
common link existed among the WB, RWB, BP, WD, BOP, and many of the other
highly
competitive class winners that were vying for the win on this day. The great
producing matriarch, Kismet's Sweetheart Deal ROM, was in the pedigree of each
an every one of these girls and boys! While her positive influence on our
breed as one of the top-producing Dams is well known, it was quite an
unexpected
tribute to her legacy to have seen so many of her outstanding successors in
the ring on this day! All to often, the credit for that outstanding litter or
show prospect is quickly given to the Sire with little consideration or
discussion of the Dam. On this day, it was clearly evident to this writer
where the
emphasis should be placed!

Best of Breed: Select Am. & Can. CH Trafalgar's Premium Blend is a very
solid, one piece, black and tan male of correct size, type and proportions. He
moves with power and smoothness in a very athletic and fluid manner. It is not
difficult to see why this handsome guy has compiled numerous specialty Best of
Breed awards as he continues to improve with age.

Best Puppy: from the 6-9 class, Darby-Dan's Miranda is a striking black &
reddish tan young lady that moves with smoothness, balance and accomplishes the
"drive and reach" concept in an effortless and correct manner. She has a
classic, timeless look and appears to be a very promising youngster!

Thanks again to the club members, exhibitors and handlers for your
participation in a fun and exciting day. Again, congratulations to all the
winners!

With best regards,
Randy Darnell
