...Dogs with shy bladders at 2 am in a drenching downpour/blinding
snowstorm/hotel
with no dogwalk area available......
To this delight I will add...Dogs who will not poop when they are on a leash;
dogs who know why they are out there in the below-zero Minnesota dawn, yet
demand to sniff everything there is to sniff before anything of theirs will hit
the snow, and poop that you step in in the dark, in the only pair of shoes you
brought, because some "thoughtful" person didn't clean up.
But I lowered my expectations long ago. I don't need BOB, or even points, to
get that "priceless feeling". I had it this weekend when my first home-bred
puppy won her 6-9 class, her first 2 times in the ring in Minneapolis.
Non-doggy friends came down from St. Cloud to watch her and then had a dinner
party for me to celebrate her blue ribbons. She was beautifully presented by
Kelly Salava and Liz Oster, and I had fond memories of being a handler when I
was their age. To the newbie who started this thread, my wish for you is that
you will always enjoy the little victories.
