Pauline, this is not by any stretch of the imagination aimed at you.  You have 
been one of my most supportive friends.  I attach your post only because of 
your reference to the long-coat champion bitch.

I am well aware of this bitch and of her qualities.  She beat Harley at least 
once, in Arizona last Fall, and Harley has beaten her a couple of times.  She 
also was awarded the AKC JAM/AOE at Eukanuba last year, along side of Harley.  
She IS a lovely bitch.  I would rather be beaten by her than by some of the 
spooks some of you are showing.

I have no issue with her being the first Grand Champion.  As some seem to think 
it is a "meaningless title," why should it matter?  
By the way, just what is a "meaningful title," according to those of you 
judgmental, super successful members of our fancy who choose to mock the title?

I have purchased, and/or bred, show-potential GSD's since 1971.  I finished my 
first American Champion, Harley's granddam, in 2005.  Now I have Harley.  I 
hardly think that I am a threat to ANYONE's kennels, campaigns, or breeding 
program.  

I don't think I will ever get over the outright cruel and hostile remarks made 
by some on this list.  I am sorry that some can't enjoy, nor allow me to enjoy, 
this once-in-a-lifetime, thrilling ride I am on.  I mean no harm to any of you. 
 I am proud of my dog, his handler, and our accomplishments.  We will continue 
on our "Road to Westminster" and not look back.  

Then you can find someone else's parade to rain on; someone else's balloon to 
burst; someone else's accomplishments to denigrate.  Hopefully, some of the 
public will see Harley, like him, and buy a puppy from some of 
you...............because of Harley!   May they be as lucky as I have been.

You cannot totally blame the AB judges for putting up this bitch;  several 
of our well known specialty judges for the last two weekends have put  her 
up....At least one of those specialty judges has received an earful from all  
the handlers about this; naturally, the issue is not that she is a long  
coat which is only a fault; it is that she is being passed off as a normal  
coat and as mentioned that is the DQ; Wonder what AKC might have to say about  
this; and Paula, it may be of interest to you that this is the GSD that 
earned  the FIRST GSD Grand Champion Award.
