So ar we have heard from everyone who GOES to the circuit/clusters. How
about hearing from those hard working folks who PUT THEM ON? How do they feel

TIRED........very tired! <G> but it is ONE day on one weekend instead of two
or more that we
have to work....and we're done. One Club ...two shows in one day....next day
the other Club.
Actually.....having one show in one day and another show the next day.......or
on another
weekend is more work IMO. Your Show Secretary has to work on two separate
shows or days,
etc. as does your "crew"....plus two days of going home and coming back to
work. One day of
Park rental. Entries are smaller with less choice of judges so the one day
shows are just drug
out and started late to fill time.... as compared to moving along quickly with
earlier starting time
to allow for bigger entries.. and two shows in one day.
You change the trophies and ribbons, .take a lunch break....and keep moving
and if judging is
done efficiently it doesn't make it a much longer day. Obviously there is
just not much time
for any "down time". Clean up and set up is about the same.
Co-ordinating Judges dinners and drives to airports can get complicated...
The ring and tables can be left up if someone stays there in a Motor Home and
the Park is already
reserved...Show Secretary has all the paperwork and the footwork done for the
two shows all
at one time...one Premium List, etc. The actual physical work is done in
ONE day instead of
two...or two weekends....and the next Club works the next day. It has to be
worked out by both
Clubs or in some cases.......2 - 4 Clubs depending on the Cluster.
Even if you as Clubs help each other and work both days.......you are getting
help.
Now this coming year for us.....with the added Futurity this will make it an
even harder longer
weekend and longer days.....and we may want to shoot ourselves
afterward......<G> We'll see.
