I know there has been a lot of discussion about the board and a closed session.
I was pleased to read that our President posted that she was the subject of a
complaint, but she rose above it and is moving on for the good of the club.
Being on the board is a real experience. My first meeting I argued to stop
fencing off the board members at the National. One of the old time members and
a board member at the time, quit. She had asked me if it wasn't special to be
on the board and shouldn't they have special treatment? I said no. The second
meeting I was told if a club member wrote to me personally, I was not to
respond, only the secretary could do that. I said that was nonsense, and if
someone wrote me, I would respond.
I was not a popular board member with the board, but the membership seemed to
support me.
Now some board member or members have disagreed with Deb. There is nothing
wrong with that, and we should support our President, and all the board. They
may not agree, but they do the best they can with what they believe. If we
don't agree, we can vote in someone else, (and yes, I am talking about the
GSDCA).
I credit Deb with taking the "high road" and continuing to lead this club.
