[ SHOWGSD-L ] Cincinnati police dog left in hot car dies

How many times do we have to read this same story??
Just this past May in New Orleans, a police dog left
unattended in a cruiser died from shock likely associated
with heat stroke after ripping up the car's seats in an
attempt to escape. The K9's handler "forgot" the dog was
in the car at the end of the night. The same thing
happened in Montgomery AL in April 2010 well as in
Chandler AZ in 2007 after (oops!) their handlers "forgot"
to take them out of their cars at the end of their shifts.
And it's not just this country either. In July of 2009,
*2* British police dogs died after being left in a cruiser
on the hottest day of the year. There are probably many
more incidences, but these were just the more recent ones
I found in a quick Google search.
Now I realize that cops have a lot on their minds, but
wouldn't you think that the health and safety of their
partners (human or K9) should at least be one of those
things? The difference is this: the human can open the car
door and leave when it becomes uncomfortable!
And don't *even* get me started on the idiot cop who
"accidentally" KICKED his K9 to death during a training
exercise. :( Sorry... I just needed to vent! I'm having
a hard time handling stupid people lately.
