Hey Jeff,
They actually put it on all the supers website and they pushed the rule when
you made entries. It started in January 2010... you could no longer show on an
Litter number the dog has to be registered by the time of the show, you can
send it in, but you must call AKC and see if the dog is registered before you
show it. If not, they will cancel any wins a dog has garnered under its litter
number.
Now, what doesnt makes sense to me, is that the litter number ends in like 02,
04, 06 and that number is ACTUALLY the AKC number.So why not allow it? But then
again, I dont understand half of what AKC does.
This can wreak havoc when you are showing at all breeds in Mississippi and
theres a point in bitches and the dog goes best of winners to get the point and
then you get a nice letter from AKC saying no points were awarded to any animal
that weekend, the dog was only 2 points shy of finishing is what I was told by
his handler ... Bummer!

Maybe this was discussed previously and I missed it, but thought I would bring
it up in case others, like me, were unaware of this change.
You used to be able to show a puppy as long as you individually registered it
within 30 days of it's first show. That is no longer permitted. All
dogs/puppies have to be individually registered prior to their first show now.
Wish they would have sent out a flyer or something! LOL
