I pray every time we have an electrical storm as we are literally in the middle
of a forest. We've brought down our numbers also to 6. In an emergency..
we'd have the dog's heads hanging out of 2 Beamers. Being house dogs, they all
get along, thank heavens. But, if it's going to flash, I want rain, too!!!!

Someone started a discussion the other day about how many dogs most breeders
keep.
At the time I said that we always try to keep our numbers at 5 or 6...and some
of those
are old...and usually a couple of young ones
The fire out here in our area in California is a good reminder of why!! We
can actually
load up every dog we have in a van and "bail" in an emergency. When we get
temporarily over that number....( puppies ) or young one's needing to be
placed....it would
take two vehicles ( which most of us have )
