The change in dates for the Canadian National became necessary because we
were unable to find a host hotel, or even hotel room space for those
attending the show anywhere in the Kitchener area. There is a very large
convention in Kitchener on that same weekend that has priority in all of the
hotels in the area. This has happened for several years and we have lost
moreand more room space over this period.
The hotel we were forced to use this year was the only one available and was
totally unacceptable for our needs. We discussed this during this year's
National and the decision was made to look at moving the show dates as hotel
space was available either a week earlier or a week later. The choice then
became which way to move. After speaking with a lot of people who travelled
to the show we found that most thought a week later would put us so close to
the US National in most years that they would then have to make a choice as
to which show to attend.
