[ SHOWGSD-L ] Can we PLEASE talk about dogs?

The August Gazette is profiling 2009 Breeder of the Year Dr. Claudia
Waller Orlandi, owner of Topsfield Bassets. She offers sound advice
for "Starting Out." She says "it's important to acquire the best
foundation stock you can afford and never place more emphasis on the
pedigree than on the individual dog. Ideally, foundation stock should
be linebred and meet the breed standard as closely as possible." She
emphasizes the need for good bitches as "you can always pay a stud
fee." The whole article is informative for everyone, newbie and
oldster (like me!!).
