I fully registered Harley with the CKC earlier this year, before I traveled up 
to the Soo to earn his CKC Championship.  Though he is microchipped in the USA, 
I had to get an ISO microchip put in, so he now has 2 microchips.  One for the 
USA and one for the rest of the world.  They told me that they really don't 
encourage tattooing anymore.  The CKC is a very user friendly organization.

When I lived in Michigan, my dogs were all tattooed for CKC shows.  I really 
love the microchips.  

Charlotte-Jo's microchip returned her to the boarding kennel she was at (while 
I attended Westminster 2 years ago) within an hour of her Great Escape!  Did I 
already say that I really love the microchips?

Ckc reg# dogs have the tattoo on the reg# papers so you can match dog and
tattoo combination and reg papers
