There was a women here in Gardnerville several years ago, who practiced what
she termed "creative breeding".
She bred her German Shepherd bitch to a Labrador Retriever. She said she hoped
to get a versatile dog who would herd sheep and also retrieve ducks for her
husband.
It didn't work very well. The pups were very good-natured, but never were much
in either herding or hunting. They were a litter of 12, and she had some of
them until they were 18 months old. <VBG> Doris
