BSL has passed out of committee and goes to the full Council on Tuesday,
December 19th at 6 p.m. in 3rd Floor Chambers, City Hall, 601 W. Jefferson
St.
We need as many people to attend as possible in opposition to this
ordinance. This is not just run of the mill BSL, but includes provisions
requiring that every sale or transfer of a dog be reported to Animal
Control, criminalizes any behavior by any animal that "irritates or
perturbs" anyone, requires confidential veterinary records to be turned over
to LMAS, and provides for the prohibition of animal ownership for 2 years
for even minor violations.
Please contact the Louisville Metro Council see e-mail list below--you'll
need to remove the spaces. Let them know that this is NOT how to build a
world-class city, and that they will be kissing their $6 million dog show
good-bye.
