WOW, what a weekend! This was truly a special one and one of the highlights
of my years in dogs. And yes Tracy, I am still smiling! :-))
Strider, Ch. Rohan's Reward TC, HT, RN, was entered in two of the four shows
that the German Shepherd Dog Club of Sac. Valley and the German Shepherd Dog
Club of Reno held this past weekend in Northern California.
On Saturday, judge Rita Sandell gave the nod to Strider and awarded him Best
of Breed over a very nice group of specials. Thank you Rita for this very
special win.
Shortly after show one, Strider and I snuck over to the obedience ring and he
earned his third leg with a first place in Novice B which gave him his CD to
add to his TC, HT and RN. Boy was I holding my breath in that long down
knowing this would be his third leg. Now we are on to Open and Rally Advanced.
On Sunday in show one under Doris Farrell, Strider again was the judge's
selection for Best of Breed again! So in two shows in was entered in
conformation
he went Best of Breed in both shows and in the one show he was entered in
obedience, he completed his CD.
But it wasn't over yet for this weekend of weekends. Jagan's Remington of
Jezra made her debut in the ring. She too was only entered in two of the shows.
On Sunday, under Doris Farrell, she won a very nice 6-9 puppy class and went
on to win Best Puppy her first weekend out!!!! Good things come in small
packages! Yes, she was the smallest in the ring but that did not stop her.
Remy has only been living with me for about 3 weeks and although she is not
very well ring trained, you could still see her outreaching gait and her
beautiful suspension. Thank you Ms. Farrell for your very nice comments on our
bad
little puppy!!!
Of course, none of this would have been accomplished had it not been for Art
Sinclair who piloted these two dogs to their wins. My sincere thanks to Art
for his great job in showing them and also for picking out both Strider and
Remy
for me. And thanks to Anne Thompson and Tracy Radigan for letting Remy come
to live with me and to Bobbie Kindy for the Strider man!
Thank you to Strider's and Remy's "performance enhancers" Tracy and Debbie
Hopkins....sometimes it takes a village! <g> And thanks to Susan Sisemore who
has always been so supportive.
It was a great weekend and the ringside support was wonderful. Thank you
all for your congratulations as we left the ring. The two clubs did a
wonderful
job of putting on a Futurity and four shows in three days. It was tiring but
fun. Lois Gregor did an awesome job as show secretary for all four shows and
two obedience and two rally trials.
