Monozygotic twins (born in the same sac) are quite rare in dogs, but do
occur. Triplets are even rarer. I did have one set of twins in a Sheltie
litter years ago. I WISH now I had taken pictures! They were sable/white
and the markings were very nearly identical. Quite amazing.

Hi everyone, I have whelped many different kinds of dogs in my time BUT
I have NEVER had more than just one puppy in each sack. Is this new or
did I just not have it happen for some odd reason? I have never even heard
anyone mention something like this happening. As I read the announcement
and triplets and twins were mentioned, I thought of identical looks,
naturally.
Can anyone elaborate on this as it's most interesting to an oldie. TNX
