2. I also find it interesting that people routinely post about looking
for stud dogs and this is what they want...... What happened to
looking at offspring/pedigrees/health clearances, etc and then talking
to the owners of a stud dog you are interested in.. I do understand
the fact that there are lots of nice boys sitting on people's sofas
that people don't know about or forget about, but back to my question
above.. What happened to researching lines and actually studying dogs?

That's exactly IT, Jess. (As Henry Higgins once said, "By Jove, I
think she's got it!") IMHO, I think that MANY people do not do their
homework anymore. They DON'T research pedigrees, they DON'T study
movement, temperament, et al. They DON'T give a damn about the
longevity in bloodlines, as long as THAT bloodline has a lot of
winners. And they DO finish them fast--after all, they could drop
dead before they're five.
