When I read this it was years ago. I think it was contiguous states. It
might even have been before we added Hawaii. I learned we only had 48 states
while in high-school, and had to relearn it all over.
I would think Hawaii would have the most coastline. There are so many
islands in the state. I do know that Michigan has a lot of beachs, bordering
on two of the Great Lakes. Also, at one point, Michigan had the most
motorcycles per person of any state. I don't know if that is still true.
I do know that Michigan has the only upper peninsula. That must mean
something. Especially if you are a Upper. Unless you are from Michigan, you
can't appreciate that.
