Night before last, the coyotes were really bad. - Full moon, lots of rabbits
this year....
The dogs were barking and carrying on and the coyotes were right up to the
fence. So I got up and let them in, put the blocks in the doggie doors and
settled back to bed - all of this in the dark. Then, they started howling
when the coyotes were doing their kill chant. Finally I yelled at Sir to
shut up and lay down. He knew I was upset, so he did.
Then he started chewing on a bone. Again I yelled at him, so he came on the
bed and snuggled (I'm sorry dad.) So we all settled down and in a few
minutes Sir started in on the bone again, this time on the bed, so I raised
up, reached down to grab the bone and throw it off the bed and found a....
no - not a bone....
no not a toy -------
no not a chew stick .................
A rabbit head.
I felt like the guy in the Godfather finding the horse head!!!!
Apparently this poor dumb rabbit ran into the yard to get away from the
coyotes.... Not good!
Darn dogs....
I'm going to raise gerbils!!!
