24 hours is a day in my dictionary. And how long is your driving day,
Miss Deb? I am sure it will be a GREAT national and everyone will have a
great time and I don't want you to miss me for not being there. Many of my
nationwide friends have passed away like Lori and Laurie, and quite frankly,
it's just not the same. Those of you out there who have lost close friends
in dogs know how I feel. It's just not the same. I enjoy my dogs at home
and especially watching the interaction of the puppies with their sire
and/or dam. We have a great breed, but not having my friends with me---it's
just not the same. I used to help Laurie with the Raffle, and I did that
for her, because I wouldn't let her down. Having been to Nationals for the
past 30 years has been great fun and I'm sure to go to more in the future.
I am not just going to go to the national just to go. Maybe I'm still
grieving for my friends, but the 3 of us started at the same time, learned the
ropes at the same time, and had so much in common establishing our own
'bloodlines'. It's just not the same. It's not that I don't have competitive
dogs.....earning and AOE and not 1, but 2 ROM's in 2010 (it's been
confirmed; I just have to send in the paperwork), it's just that I think I've
lost
the killer instinct. Let me just be. Let me have my own opinion. I
haven't said anything bad about anybody or the PC. I haven't said what a
'sad'
national it is. It is what it is and it will be great for those who go and
hats off to you. I hope everyone wins! Let me just be. Thanks, Cheryl

doubt I will.... Maybe going home but certainly not getting there.
The fact is, no matter where it is held there will be people that can not
make it. You will be able to drive next year, right? What about the
following, certainly a much better drive for your area then for anywhere west?
Since west coasters seem to be able to drive 9 or of 10 times, I would
think more mid west and east coaster could do it once is while.
We wish you were there but we will still have fun and it will still be a
great nationals..... and maybe we won't be able to make it next year because
of the flights and the economy and a 2-3 day drive for us.... Sad really
but to not move it out of the Midwest would be a mistake.... I think...
I know in some area's it is common to not have to drive more than a few
hours to the shows and cover many states? We in California do not feel like
we have been to a show if an 8 hour drive is not attached to it, LOL
With the economy being what it is , I am not surprised with the entry.

I think you should attempt to accommodate 60% - 70% of the membership
with
a one day drive as often as you can,(BTW that would be appox. Lexington)
