I train assistance dogs. I can't tell you how many times a small child has rushed up to me and thrown their arms around the dog I'm training. IF you take your dogs anywhere they MUST be under your control at all times. There just isn't any room in this world for a dog that will snap or growl at ANYONE. I have to tell you, if your dog thinks he can growl or snap at you then he is not under control. I know some will call me a control freak, so be it. But I am not going to jeopardize the service dog group I work for, my own personal liability, and my dogs life by allowing obnoxious behaviors. As the commercial says " Life comes at you fast". What if your dog escaped out the door and ran down the street? What if you were seriously ill or injured and EMT's came into the house? What if for some reason you could not make it home and someone had to come in to take care of your dog? Your dog better be safe around children and other people reaching for his collar or you just bought yourself a lawsuit.
