Well said, Carolyn! It's not just you!
People whine about competing against the professional handlers, but then they
don't show up to compete in the amateur futurity meanwhile taking up
everybody's
time and wasting the club's money. Put up or shut up! Sorry to be so blunt.

I don't see why it would matter??
It's an Amateur Class ( just like the Amateur Futurity .....but a lot less
simple!! )
so that those who don't want to compete against "pro handlers".......and felt
they should have a Class or Futurity where they didn't have to.
I'm sure there could be a Champion in the Amateur Futurity too....as there are
some in the "regular" Futurity and Maturity.

I've never understood why they set up an Amateur Futurity so you don't have to
compete against the "pro handlers" with your dog that you or someone handles
and YET..........even if that dogs WINS the "Amateur Futurity".....it can ALSO
compete in the "regular" Futurity??
Why are Clubs required to go to all that bother so someone can NOT compete
against "pros".......and yet....after all that.......they can ....and
DO.....ANYWAY?
Am I the only one that doesn't make sense to........??? IS it just
me......<G>
