If this passes, it will seriously impact the big kennels who show multiple dogs a year. The AKC is its own worst enemy. I hate to say it, but this is where the other registry's are killing the AKC. It costs less to register puppies with the UKC and to show with them. The puppy mill registry, ACA, not only registers puppies cheaply, it provides forms for its breeders to meet Pa. dog laws, and has been on the forefront of fighting these new regulations. They also have reiceved donated money from some of the bigger dog food mfts., which I'm sure they went out and asked for. Having said all that, the AKC, being the only one to DNA dogs is the only one I'ld buy a dog from. On a related note, wasn't the AKC talking about adding two extra groups? What happened to that?
