I am NOT in favor of it. An ILP for a PUREBRED (or one that at least LOOKS
purebred) is TOTALLY different from listing for a mutt. Unfortunately I
don't think AKC is looking at the possible ramifications of this when it
comes to the "designer breeds". This will just be one more plum they can use
in advertising.
AKC needs to "make" more money... how about "saving" some.... like - close
the NY office. It is redundant.

Hi All;
As an AKC Delegate, this was one of the questions on the Strategic Planning
Surveys and many felt that this was a great idea to
increase revenues and get people with mixed breeds to shows and perhaps to
lure them into purebreds and the confirmation
ring.
I for one, along with the members of my AB Club are in favor of this. AKC
needs to generate income and needs to help educate
the public in dog care, health etc.
I started my love of the sport with an ILP GSD that I had gotten after
losing my first AKC GSD when she was 15. I so loved dog
shows, that I went and brought a pointed bitch and started my love affair of
confirmation.
I believe that this is a way to educate these people and get them involved.
It would be a totally different registration and
be for performance events only. An it will bring in income for Rally and
Agility Events and help not only the AKC but clubs
that are in financial trouble due to enters falling in all areas.
