Senate Bill 128 seeks to designate the Treeing Walker Coonhound as the official
state dog of Kentucky. The bill states that the Treeing Walker Coonhound is a
native Kentucky dog breed, developed in the 1800s by two Kentucky breeders.
Dog lovers in the state are urged to contact your state senators and
representatives and ask them to co-sponsor Senate Bill 128.
A true American heritage breed, the Treeing Walker Coonhound descends from the
Walker Foxhound, a breed developed in the mid-1700s from English stock by
Virginia breeder Thomas Walker, and 1800s Tennessee hunting dogs. Here are
some fun facts about the breed.

Contact your state senator and representative and ask them to co-sponsor Senate

Committee on Licensing and Occupations to vote in favor of the bill.
