The American Kennel Club (AKC) is investigating claims from various
sources that regulatory policy regarding the shipment of live animals
into the United States has been changed. First brought to the
attention of the American Kennel Club on Thursday, February 19th, the
AKC has since been in contact with senior officials in both the
airline industry and government seeking statements and interpretations
of any changes. Currently, the AKC has received no authoritative
information regarding the validity of any policy changes.
The American Kennel Club will continue to investigate these claims,
and, upon resolution of the issue, will report any definitive changes.
