the Heritage Society of The American German Shepherd Dog Charitable
Foundation, Inc.  Most people from California could point me out to you;

Here is a bit of information on the Heritage Society: 

"To the Health of the Breed" is the slogan for The American German Shepherd
Dog Charitable Foundation, Inc. ( www.agsdcf.org ), hopefully communicating
what we are all about.  With the general advances in medical sciences over
the last six years, we have great hopes that our beloved German Shepherd Dog
breed will become healthier as the years go on.  In particular, we believe
that advances in gene markers will be one of the items that will help dogs
in general as once we give breeders more tools to use they will be able to
better pick the correct sires to mate with dams.  I would think that in not
too many years from now, both sires and dams could advertize that they have
been tested and are negative for producing certain items in their progeny,
for instance mega esophagus.  While human research is done each year at the
expenditure of billions of dollars, canines' research each year is a lot
less.  For instance, expenditures by The American German Shepherd Dog
Charitable Foundation have been around $25,000 a year for the last 20 years.
However, in 2001 we established a part of the Foundation called The Heritage
Society.  The Heritage Society is a group of people who have decided that
when they pass on they will leave something of significance to their breed.
To become a member, a person who names The American German Shepherd Dog
Charitable Foundation, Inc. in their will or trust as a partial or full
beneficiary would qualify.  However, you can also qualify by naming the
Foundation on items that pass outside (thus they over-ride what is in your
will or trust) of your will or trust, such as a full or partial beneficiary
of a life insurance policy, as a full or partial beneficiary of your IRA or
401(k), or on a Payable on Death account at a bank.  If you like, you can
designate your donation through the Heritage Society as part of our new in
2008 "Endowment Fund", so that only part of the gains are distributed each
year to the Foundation for spending that year, and thus your contribution
will last for many, many years.  Please join the 36 (up 4 from 2007 year)
other people who are Heritage Society members....our future GSDs thank you
for your participation.

If you already qualify for Heritage Society membership in the AGSDCF, please
tell me so we can add you to the list of Heritage Society members on the
www.agsdcf.org web page.  Also, always remember to use the correct, full,
legal name of the Foundation and have the Foundation's web page address
somewhere in your legal papers so that the Foundation's correct address is
available to whoever will be carrying out your desires.
