Yahoo! mail appears to have several vulnerabilities that have been ongoing.
Here is a pretty definitive article on what you need to do to protect your
email and your computer.

If you decide to change your email address to another provider from Yahoo,
please dont forget to let GSDCAmembers@xxxxxxx know if you are a GSDCA member
so that the Club can keep up with your email address.
Your account is being hacked to send out spam. They know nothing about you,
nor do they care.
Above all, change your password and use one with at least 8 characters that
contains small letters, capital letters, numbers and at least 1 special
character. Make sure you save all your passwords in a safe place. Its easy to
put them on 3X5 index cards and store them in a $2 photo album book.
Hacking a password is easy for a computer. They just try all possible
combinations. Finding a small-letter password (26 possibilities for each
letter) that is only 4 characters is ridiculously easy for a computer. I wont
bore you with the math but would only take about a HALF MILLION tries. Finding
an 4-character password with small letters, Capital letters, numbers and
special characters could take as many as almost 27 MILLION tries. Adding one
more character in your password could require over 2 BILLION tries to hack your
password.
