[ SHOWGSD-L ] AB 1634 Update

I was on the road for over 3 hours today and got to speak before the committee
for about a minute and a half. That said...that minute and a half was very
important. There were 100's there in support of AB 1634 but even more against.
As I drove up to Sacramento, I changed radio stations several times and noted
that every one previewed this bill and all of them leaned towards supporting
1634. I screamed more than once because I couldn't respond to the propaganda
that's been spread by the supporters...the CA Veterinary Medical Association,
and their new compadre...the Animal Control Agents Association.
It IS formidable opposition and I looked closely at the committee's faces as
people testified. I was not pleased and one committee member challenged an anti
1634 speaker openly in the committee. Ugly! All of the best talking points were
brought up...owners property rights, loss of CA jobs and damage to the state
economy, unfunded mandate, and the fact the only way this can be enforced is
through a cabal between vets, ACO's, and the ARO posse's roaming the state
turning people in...more UGLY!
Bottom line is the vote has been postponed for 2 weeks. I need to get with the
powers to see what we can do before then. As soon as I know I will post to all.
Oh...another not so good thing...the TV reporters covering the hearing spent
most of their time interviewing supporters. I finally went up and handed them
my literature and put it under the windshield wipers of two of their TV vans.
I've had better days...
