Just a thought:........ I could be WAY OFF
HERE.....................because entries are lower at the Nationals,
because air travel is more expensive, gas prices are ever rising, people
complaining about where the National is held every year, (some want it
on the West Coast, some the East, and others Central)..............here
goes, going to give it a shot...........has anyone ever considered
having three........yes, you heard that right..........having three
National shows? We can crown a West Coast Victor/Victrix, East Coast
Victor/Victrix, and a Central Victor/Victrix....and the selects from
those areas. It would be something like our furturities that are
regionally held. I bet you'd get a heck of alot more entries. I think
alot more dogs would be show cased. I think more stud dogs would be
used for peoples breeding programs. Before everyone says, "oh no, it
can't be done"......think about it. It could, and I think entries would
be way higher and it would be more profitable for all
concerned........the Parent Club, the stud dog owners and the breeders,
plus more spectators. More stud dogs that people haven't considered
using before, might now be considered because some are not shown because
of the distance involved getting to the National. More people would get
a chance to show their dogs that, perhaps couldn't before. I know I'm
more apt to go to a National on my side of the country than I am all the
way on the other side of the country. Times are changing, and when we
are seeing things that have been done in the past that was tremendously
successful, quickly dwindling away, then sometimes change is good when
it can benefit our beloved breed and the people who devote their lives
