"Where are the "animal activists" when you need them?"

"animal activists" - you didn't really mean to say that, did you?

I would be extremely surprised if a GSD rescue isn't involved in this already.

You said you "could get behind an orginization that helped the animals" Lots
out there!! Start with your local GSD or all breed rescue. Check them out, and
then start volunteering. Foster, and if you can't do that then perhaps you
would be good at doing home checks, or just simply walking some dogs....or if
you have no time for that, slip by and donate blankets, toys, food, funds for
meds and vet bills, donate the funds from garage sales, donate your used
computers, printers, scanners to private rescues........the list goes on. Make
the effort and ask them what they need!

Lend a paw up!

Some people are just evil.... they aren't sick because sick people need
help..... they are just evil and should be dealt with that way.

The only way to understand & estimate the nature of the dog is to study his
whole development. Such a task requires a sympathetic, dog-loving observer, who
tries as far as possible to enter into the innermost mind of the dog, and who
will know how to short-circuit all his purely human points of view. --Max von
