Hi folks...

I just wanted to warn you about the recent rash of "bogus" postings to our
SeniorTech listserv. They're basically "empty" emails which consist of
nothing more than a "link" to some website. (Example below.) These links
take you to either (1) a website where they'll try to SELL you something, or
worse (2) a website where (if you're foolish enough to click on it) you'll
get infected with some sort of "malware" (virus, worm, trojan horse, etc.).

Under NO circumstances should you ever click on a link like this, even if
you THINK you know who it's from!

How do these emails get sent out in the first place? Simple, a member of our
listserv gets infected by a VIRUS. This virus invades their email ADDRESS
BOOK and sends out bogus emails that APPEAR to come from this person. Since
most of our listserv members (including YOU) probably have put the address
for the SeniorTech listserv in their address book, the virus find our
address and sends "us" a bogus email.

If this happens more than ONCE from the same person, I immediately
unsubscribe that person from the listserv until he/she cleans up their
computer. Then they can re-subscribe if they want to.

Remember, do NOT click on any of these links!

Thanks.

Jerry
