Best Western Premier Hotel de la Paix
Looks very nice and is in the same chain as a place I stayed in Switzerland last year which was lovely.  This trip is predominantly to collect brownie points from the wife, as I have gone from having no holidays this year to convincing the kids they need a road trip (separate ones of course), so I've got the wife coming to Reims next week, my Son the Nergurgring and daughter to a nive French village of her choice as she's a keen photograher and wants to do a little photoshoot.  Then I have a Vineyard trip back to Reims with the wife (again) with a few mates in other cars with their wives, all to score brownie points so we can do another 6 day Euro Tour in September!
On the photoshoot one, does anyone have suggestions for locations in France I can get to in 2-3 hours for the trip with my daughter?  Would love to do Colmar but it's 7 hours and I need these smaller trips to be a single overnight stay.  Reims is the obvious one but I'll already be there twice this year!
Anyone fancy helping with my first world problem???
Thanks

Reims is beautiful, which hotel are you staying at Rob?

Double checked my plans and I'm in Reims in 2 weeks and my hotel is bang in the middle of the emmission zone.  It's a very small zone though, so for whatever they are going to charge me, I'm gonna get my money's worth and try to drive every road in the zone!

Adding to the previous, it's actually not a bad website.  All the data is on the V5 doc after all and they tell you exactly where to look for it

Am I right in thinking for a year 2000 Tuscan it's Euro 2 and 405g/km for CO2 emmissions?
Just filling the details in on this site: www.certificat-air.gouv.fr/demande

Thanks

I Googled it before my last post before I replied, but I haven’t bought anything yet.
I was referring to the Crit’Air sticker that goes in the windscreen. I know cars prior to 97 can’t apply but I have no idea re historics, as far as I could see if it’s pre 97 you need to stay out of the zone.
You need your V5 document for the relevant car as it will show some info you need to get the right certification.
As said, I haven’t gone into it in great depth yet but I do know several TVR owners who have done it without issue.
All the best

Hi Nick
If the car was built before 97 it does not qualify for a Crit’Aire certificate. Cars over 30 years can get an exemption as a historic but how do you apply. You say it is only £3 for the required cert for life is this the Crit’Aire or exemption cert.

Thanks Bob

There’s no doubt travelling anywhere in our cars is getting more difficult as time goes by, particularly if you live or want to travel through a major city.

The good news is the required certificate in France only costs about £3.00 for the lifetime of your car, plus the alternative route you mentioned is rather pleasant, see attached.

For those travelling into Europe this year it’s worth investigating a Crit’Aire sticker as the fine for not having one is a bit tasty if you get caught.

All the best

Nick

Nick, I expect you are all aware of this but in case it should have past you by, if your car was registered before 1997 you cannot take it through Rouen if your heading to Le Mans.

I will not qualify for a 3 certificate or better. In fact it won’t qualify for any certification.

Will need to take the S3 via the western route and over the Pont de Brotonne
