All
Firstly I hope that you and your families are all safe and well.
You will now have no doubt seen the announcement from the ACO that the 2020 Le
Mans 24 Hours of Le Mans to proceed on the revised dates of 19/20 Sept 20 with
spectators.
Clair has kindly forwarded me the following link which provides an insight to
how the event will be run and structured. Subsequently, the Manbulance and
myself, Caroline, Terry, Cathy, Tony and Clair have decided that we will not
attend this year. You will recall that a number of other of the group dropped
out when the date was changed too.
http://www.dailysportscar.com/2020/07/16/important-update-for-those-attending-the-2020-le-mans-24-hours.html
When the decision was taken to run the event I contacted 1st Tickets and
received the following response.
"Running the event with significantly reduced spectator numbers has certainly
surprised a number of people. I thought it was touch and go, especially as the
French Government have banned mass gatherings until at least 1st September.
I can understand, given what we have all experienced over the past three months
or so, that some of the group would be reluctant to attend the September dates.
For those people in your group, the options would be the same as before:
* Transfer their part of the booking to the 2021 event
* Refund credit note for their portion of the booking to use for a future
booking. If not used by 31st March, then we are obliged to give a refund.
* Part refund and part gift vouchers (£75 per person)"
Therefore can those still currently attending please either confirm that they
still wish to attend or which of the above options they wish to take. If it
helps decision making, we are rolling our booking forward to 2021.
Many thanks all, I hope to hear from you all shortly.
Stay safe
Richard

Hi All
I trust that you and your families are all safe and well?
As you know, Le Mans has been postponed until 19th-20th September 2020 albeit
of course we have no certainty at this stage that is will proceed or if it does
what format it might take. Sadly when the new dates were announced a few of you
advised me that you were unable to attend.
Therefore according to my records, the following are attending:
myself
Caroline Bartle
Tony and Clair Perello
Terry and Cathy Arnold
Woody
Gay Dave and Huma
Martin Brown and Jerry
James Ashcroft +5
Rob Kerridge & Sam Conroy
And the following have cancelled:
Nick & Carrie Smith
Laura Smith & Chris Diamond
Ange & John
Gina Kerridge
Declan WIlliams +3
I updated the booking with 1st Tickets following the change of dates and the
have now had a refund provided less £75 per person. 1st Tickets have then
issued a voucher for £75 per person which I will of course distribute.
Now I know some of you will be disappointed with the voucher and part of the
delay in coming out to you all has been trying to discuss this with 1st
Tickets. In short, under the ABTA terms they are allowed to charge a £75 per
person cancellation fee. As a regular customer they have issued a voucher in
lieu, which I think in the circumstances is commendable but then they do rely
upon repeat business.
Please be aware that these vouchers are not covered by ABTA's scheme of
financial protection. However, ABTOT, 1st Tickets bonding provider have
confirmed that once you have used the vouchers as part payment of a booking,
the total amount paid, including the sum of the vouchers is then protected by
ABTA. The vouchers can be used against any 1st Tickets event and are not
restricted to Le Mans.
Could I please ask that you email or whatsapp your address and bank account
details in order that I can issue your refund and vouchers. (I would suggest
sending in separate messages). Please note that rather than go via the club
account I will just refund you directly so it will appear as a credit from R
Davis & C Bartle.
If you have any queries or questions please give me a shout by email, whatsapp
or phone on the number below.
Stay safe and hopefully I will see you all soon.
Regards
Richard Davis

Subject: Le Mans 2020
Hi all
So who fancies Le Mans next year? We took over 30 people this year and we are
hoping yet again for a big crowd in 2020.
The ACO have announced the provisional dates to be 13 & 14 June 2019.
As previous attendees we have the ability to pre-book, therefore if you wish to
join us next year I will require the following information and a deposit of £50
per head (for adults) by Tuesday 1 October 2019.
Full names of attendees
Car/vehicle registration
No. of pitches required (each comes with a vehicle access pass)
No. of general entrance tickets
No. of grandstand tickets (not a requirement) and any preference on location
(Pit lane exit generally most popular but Ford Chicane comes recommended)
Ferry or Tunnel crossing – no. required and preferred dates/times of travel
(Most travel down Thursday morning and return Monday afternoon/eve)
Any questions please call me on 07736322911 but for those who have yet to join
us as example of costs his year were:
2 people, one pitch, one ferry crossing and 2 general entry tickets was c£500.
(none of our group actually consisted of this so its an estimate)
Deposit to be paid into the TVR regional account please, please let me know
when paid, I will send out a further email each month until mid Oct:
