Congratulations Paul and Caroline, fantastic news in these strange times.
My firm (Financial Services) managed to get 95% of colleagues ‘working from
home’ within 2 weeks, and have ‘mothballed’ some offices to save rent / rates.
Personally, this is my 6th week working from home, and I’ve not left the bounds
of our home for 4 weeks now!
However, did manage to get the Chimaera back from our garage inSouth London, so
she’s home and I am now tempted to take her out for the Weekly shopping trip!
On the garage, we’ve had to close the doors, furlough our 6 technicians, and
Melanie is trying every day to see what he’ll we can get to save the company.
The combination of the social distancing, the request to not travel
unnecessarily and then the auto-extension of MoTs all led to our work
evaporating over a week. As anyone who has a business in London knows, fixed
costs are high and Lambeth is currently insisting on the business rates being
paid on time!
Hey ho, on the positive side, we’re all safe and well and the Tiv is home!
Stay safe everyone. Really looking forward to a blast out and a big breakfast
somewhere!
David & Melanie.

Hi everyone.
I hope you are all well?
Just a quick catch up really to see how people are getting on?
I was on furlough for three weeks (& loved it) but went back to work last
Wednesday. We have a reduced team & only three of seven depots open & it’s
all a bit strange, social distancing & all the changes we’ve had to make to
operate the business safely are very strange…if any of you are thinking of
going back soon I’m happy to discuss what we’ve done if it helps as sharing
information at times like this could make a difference.
On the car club front I feel a little redundant! As you all know events are
being pulled left right & centre so God only knows when we’ll be able to get
together again? Is anyone able to use their TVRs at the moment?
Once this is all over I promise we’ll get some decent runs sorted, although I
suspect every man & his dog will be on the road once the ban is lifted.
Keep in touch, perhaps we can organise another virtual Sunday meet for next
weekend?
All the best
Nick & Carrie
